MANAMA: The Bahrain Insurance Association (BIA) is organising a two-day seminar in association with the General Arab Insurance Federation.
The seminar will convene under the theme 'Enterprise Risk Management and Corporate Governance: Present Challenges and the Financial Crisis', and will be held at the Golden Tulip Hotel on May 6 and 7.
The seminar topics have been carefully selected, and will be presented by top experts and insurance industry professionals to ensure that participants are abreast of the latest industry trends in light of global economic market conditions.
"Bahrain has achieved pre-eminence as the regional financial services centre through the government's wise and far-sighted policy of maintaining an open and diversified economy, and by paying close attention to legal and regulatory infrastructure," said BIA chairman Ashraf Bseisu.
"This has provided the framework for Bahrain's insurance industry to flourish, and for Bahrain to become the region's insurance hub. This seminar will discuss the most expedient insurance sector trends and challenges, and identify the most important lessons to be learned from the current economic turmoil," he added.
