With reference to the article, 'United against terror' (GDN, September 1), I would like to say something that I have witnessed over the past few days.

One had to laugh out loud following the story, 'Trafficking suspect jailed for suicide bid' (GDN, September 3) and here are the reasons.

This is in reference to Mr India's letter. My comments were directed at the recent incident, nothing to do with being an Indian-Bengali or whatever. And I am still a proud Bengali and FYI, Bengal is a part of India so why are you picking on unwanted subjects? And by the way, if you remember, the original article was about Bengal, hence "Proud Bengali".

I couldn't stop laughing at the joke by An expatriate's Bahrain "green card". He says he's been working here for a long time but doesn't want the nationality. As if he can get it if he wants!

How refreshing to see that the Health Ministry takes note of violations to the law and acts promptly to rectify the situation.

I am writing after reading Chandra Berri's letter 'Victims just need help'. Don't you feel it's a little ironic that Pakistan is holding out its hand to the West for aid?
